Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Holiday's! I hope every one's holidays were as wonderful as ours. Nick & I were so fortunate to have all of our parents and siblings in town to celebrate. We also had the bonus of my grandparents visiting! We missed the Bry's & Shafer's as they celebrated in Texas this year.

The celebration started on the 23rd with Hanukkah at my parents house. Dylan liked the candles on the menorah. He is very into lights now! Then on Christmas Eve we went to Nick's grandmother, Jama's house for tamales. This is one of my favorite Kerns' traditions. :) Nick & I hosted Christmas morning. It's a good thing we have no furniture in the loving room & and an extra dining room table. Everyone came over and the number of presents was overwhelming! We had a wonderful time opening gifts then a yummy breakfast that everyone helped prepare. Then it was off to Nick's Mom's for lunch/early dinner with her family then to my parents for an evening Christmas dinner. By the end of the day we were so full, I think I put all 18lbs of my pregnancy weight back on!

On the way to Jama's for tamales & the Rosary on Christmas Eve! WOW! Christmas morning...
Benito stayed with Nick or I all morning. I think he was overwhelmed with all of the people. Bob decided to stay in bed all morning.
My cousin Jeff made this! Can you believe it!!!!

Tis the Season

The holiday's are officially here. We have decorated our house, trimmed our tree and wrapped presents! Everything seems to be a bit more exciting this year with Dylan.

Today, Jackie & her daughter Gianna drove all the way from Valley Ford to visit us! Julie came over and we had such a wonderful afternoon. The babies behaved very well and even allowed us to take a few pictures.

Baby Swap!
All Smiles
Dylan is starting to interact with his surroundings. He loves to chat with anyone who will listen. He is also started to reach for things. It's so fun to watch him swat at his toys hanging from his activity mat.

Listen to me!

Almost...

Got it!

We also did some more work in Dylan's room. My Dad made some FABULOUS custom shelves for the wall. They fit perfectly with the theme!

Santa!

I took Dylan to the mall today to meet Santa! He did great! I think he is too young to be afraid or appreciate him, but he cooperated and took a really cute picture.

Dylan spends a lot of time these days on his activity mat. He loves to stretch out, kick his legs, punch his arms and "talk" to the animals hanging above him. It is so adorable!!! He smiles so much now but seems to stop when the camera snaps. This was the best I've been able to capture his beautiful smile so far.

Bob also likes the activity mat. Dylan is learning to share early in life.

2 Month Appointment

We had Dylan's 2 month appointment today and the doctor gave him an A+! He now weighs 9 lbs 3oz and is 22 inches long! I can't believe how big our baby has grown. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height. Not sure where the tall and thin gene came from...

He also had his 2 month shots today. He did pretty well. He only screamed once then just made horrible faces after that. He has been a little fussy since the shots but is very happy curled up in the Moby.

Happy Thanksgiving! 7 Weeks

Happy Thanksgiving! We have a very busy VERY fun week! It started last Saturday with a trip to the East Bay to visit my friends Jerri & Sara. The men golfed and the women and children had lunch in downtown Danville. It was so nice to see the girls. Dylan also got to meet his Auntie Tara for the first time!

Yes, 2 car seats, 3 adults, the Bob and the Mclaren all fit in the Prius!

On Sunday morning we left for San Diego to spend a few days with Nick's family. Dylan did great on the 7 hour drive! We only had to stop twice to feed and change him. The rest of the ride he slept!

We took him to the beach for the first time! He slept through most of it but I think he enjoyed it :)

On Tuesday we headed up to Torrance to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Dylan met the Bry & Shafer families here for the first time! His cousin Rylee was very interested in her baby cousin.

Dylan, Dylan!

Dylan is now 7 weeks old and changing so much every day! He loves his time on the floor! He kicks his feet, punches his hands, smiles and makes the cutest noises. He is the happiest baby on earth!

Dylan is almost 6 weeks!

These last 2 weeks have flown by! I'm not sure where the days go. By the time Dylan and I get up, eat and shower, it's already 11am!!! And believe me, we are not sleeping late. We are starting to develop a routine which is nice. He is still sleeping really well (knock on wood). His first stretch is 4-5 hours long on most nights! I really appreciate the sleep. He is getting bigger and bigger each day. His newborn clothes still fit him, but the length is getting close. 0-3 month clothing is starting to fit a little better. He is still a very mellow baby. I can take him anywhere. We frequent the market, Target and my parents house. Dylan is also awake a lot more during the day. He is also much more aware of himself and his surroundings. He loves the mirror on his swing! I think Dylan got his Dad's big beautiful brown eyes. I love them! His hair is getting lighter like mine. We are still hoping for it to get curly like Nick's!

Wow, 1 month already!

Dylan has been here for over a month now! I seriously can't believe it. He is starting to use his swings and bouncy chairs now. We are settling into a very nice routine that allows us to actually leave the house! Dylan is a great little buddy to run errands with!

We have had a very busy past couple of days. Lots of fun visitors and outings!

My friend Jen came to visit on her way home from LA. Jen and I met at WOW our first week of Cal Poly 9 years ago. I can't believe we're now old enough to be married with kids! Her son Rhett is a little over 11 weeks old and SO ADORABLE.

We took Dylan on a walk to my parents for dinner the other night. It's so cold now that we have to bundle him up! The adorable Giants themed blanket was knitted but my talented cousin Krissy.
Dylan's Great Grandma "Jama" and cousins Dominic & Savannah.

Dylan loves his baths! He doesn't play in them yet, but he really enjoys the warm water.

Here are some pictures I took of Dylan to document his 1 month birthday!
